Dobie Students Travel to Washington, D.C.

On May 9th, 2006, 14 students traveled to Washington D.C.

The Smithsonian

The students worked hard in raising funds for this wonderful adventure. Sherri Henderson, 6th grade World Cultures teacher and Coordinator, along with Matthew Sulanke 6th grade Math teacher, were delighted to escort the students on this amazingly educational and unforgettable trip. Both teachers believe that the students were inspired to become productive citizens in their schools and communities.

Hands on in the science exhibits.

The Washington Monument

During the four day visit they learned about U.S. history first hand by touring the U.S. Capitol, White House, Lincoln Memorial, Vietnam War Memorial, Washington Monument and Smithsonian Institute Museums, to name a few.

Our Nation's Capitol.

They gained a deeper understanding of our nation's history and were totally in awe of all the exhibits representing our rich heritage.
